It’s about time for me to post some High School Sr. Photos that I did out in Troy, Alabama!
Troy Alabama is a small, small town in Alabama, just outside of Montgomery where my wife is from. I enjoy visiting for the detached sensation I get from the rest of the world. It’s a place where the stars are visible at night, where kids call their elders “sir” and “ma’am”, home of world-class fried chicken, and where it’s ok for a grown man to cry about a dog they lost several years ago. Visiting is like jumping head first into any Brooks & Dunn song. I love it.
And where Troy is all of this, hanging out with my Niece-in-Law brings me back to the awesome innocence of what it was to be in High School again. It was fun to go out and do some “Senior Pics”!
I really enjoyed this session, and I think that Troy offers such a cool, unique setting that I may try to block off a few weeks to shoot High School Seniors later in 2014 if I can generate enough interest. I’m going to definitely give it a go! So if you found this post searching for a photographer in Troy for your senior pics, shoot me a note and I’ll put you on the list!
Meet Mackenzi (and her horse, Foxy)
These were photographed in Mackenzi’s own front yard. Those are Pecan trees (I THINK) on each side of her. I’ve had the chance to be here when the leaves are green and it’s just as pretty as you’d think!
Old barns always make for excellent backdrops!
And now we’re in the Troy town square. Lots and LOTS of great shooting scenes!
Thanks for being a great sport, Mackenzi! I’m excited to hear about your final semester in High School and even more as you pursue your dreams of becoming a Doctor, starting at Auburn University!

Love the photo’s, would have loved to have these type of Sr. portraits when I was in HS!!!!! 😉
Ok now I could cry when I look at these pictures. I see glimpses of Mackenzi as a little girl. My heart swells with pride when I see the inner beauty you have captured in these pictures. Sure the outer shell is stunting but I see a strong perservereing spirit that is kind and committed to all that she embraces. She has a serious focused exterior but to those privledged to know her see a sweet playful young woman ready to experience all life has to offer. She is genuine through and through and I love these pictures!
