I recently had the chance to shoot an incredible Greek Wedding at the Arizona Biltmore, my favorite AZ location, and where I’ve been a preferred photographer for almost 10 years!! I was excited in particular about this wedding because it was the wedding of Nicole and Garrett who hired me over the phone but had me out to their hometown of Pittsburgh to do their engagement photos! It was my first time in Pittsburgh and they gave me a really great day, bringing me out a great Italian restaurant and then a tour of Nicole’s family bakery, which has blown up to a National scale, serving some of the best restauraunts around the country and via Whole Foods Market among others.
Their bakery is called Mediterra and it’s obviously incredible bread, but what I like most about the company is the story about how her father put it ALL on the line and followed his dream and made it happen. It’s a classic tale of entrepreneurship. Nicole told me she wanted a BIG blog post from her wedding, so I figured I better put on my A game.
Nicole, this is 148 photos in a single blog post. Among my top three in blogging history! 🙂 So, let’s go already! First, meet the couple! I’m still trying to decide if I want to photoshop out the graffiti or leave it. The journalist/fashion
Now let’s rewind. The day started off with a bridesmaid selfie.
It doesn’t get any better than the Frank Lloyd Wright architecture at the Arizona Biltmore!
Knock Knock…
Every time I post from the Biltmore, I post a shot of the lobby birds!
Nicole is crazy about shoes. I learned this about her in Pittsburgh. I’m no dummy – I made sure to get plenty of photos of her Christian Louboutin shoes!
Mother of bride looking on as her daughter prepares for the big day.
One of Nicole’s bro’s stopped in to say hi.
Let’s get the bubbly flowing! You are probably wondering what’s going on at this point. I wish I remember his name, but they flew this famous clarinet guy out from Greece, who pretty much followed Nicole around all day playing this crazy Greek music. One of the coolest things I’ve ever seen at a wedding. Wait till you see him sweating like an animal at the reception (below)!! Ladies, ladies, please – no pictures. Grooms mom is excited to have a new daughter! Mmmm so do I! Such a cool chapel – Greek Orthodox Everyone knows I love photographing the guests at every wedding. Happy Father’s Day to the proud dad in the background. Keep it together, man! 😉 Happy Father’s Day, Mr. Ambeliotis! Father’s hand in the foreground. It gets hot in Arizona – bridesmaids are thinking they’d rather be wearing skirts. Garrett, poor guy had to face all of these brother’s when he first started dating Nicole. And a very large dad, too (not pictured) Beautifully decorated reception! This bread is just as much of the family as Nicole and Garrett! When you hear the clarinet, you know the shit’s about to get cray. I almost slipped and fell on all that cash. I’m not joking. ha ha There was so much cash flying around, this lady had to stop and sweep, like every 10 minutes. Mother of the bride drops it like it’s hot. (sorry, couldn’t resist – had to post) And BAM, Breakin’ III. This is how the rest of the night pretty much went down. OK Nicole, there’s your HUGE blog post! I hope you enjoyed it. This only represents 1/5 of all of your photos. Uploading them to your online gallery now! Thanks again for having me out, Nicole and Garrett! Needless to say I had an AWESOME time! Let’s do baby pics soon! 😉
