It was just a regular Saturday night, LK and I spent it running some errands and hanging out. No big deal. I had plans to go 4-wheeling with some friends the next morning.

As we called it a day, LK and I were talking about Nixon’s due date (which was still over a month away), and I joked that I thought he will come ‘tomorrow’. LK laughed, “he better not!”.

He did!

4AM I get nudged out of my beauty sleep, “Mark, I think my water just broke!”. Funny thing is that I just hopped out of bed and grabbed my camera, fed the cat, gabbed all of LK’s stuff like it was a regular routine.

Here’s a video on our drive to the hospital. You can tell it hasn’t totally sunk in what was about to happen!

In a matter of minutes, they swooped up LK and brought me in.  I still can’t believe how fast everything happened!

After that, I got to carry Nixon to his unit in the NICU.  Being over a month early, they wanted to keep him there for a little while.  Hopefully we’ll get him out of there today!
