Last weekend I had the pleasure of working with some really cool people from Boulder, Colorado. Jen and Ron got married at Devil’s Thumb Ranch on November 2nd, 2013! This was especially cool to me, because I got married at Devil’s Thumb Ranch EXACTLY one year earlier! (well, November 3, 2012). It was really strange, actually. They got married in the exact place where I was standing a year ago, at the exact same time, danced in the exact same place where I danced. It really was crazy, but it made it a TON of fun to photograph!
Devil’s Thumb Ranch is THE venue for couples looking to truly experience a Colorado wedding. It’s as Colorado as Colorado gets. Our guests are STILL telling us how awesome it was. And as for me and my wife, I can say they take AMAZING care of their guests. And the food is best in Colorado. See below!
I also learned a lot of cool stuff about Jen and Ron. They are super active. I love it. I have a few things in common with Jen – bike racing and crossfit and I’m sure skiing and bagging peaks and all sorts of other stuff. And I noticed Ron throwing stuff into a dry bag like we used to use back in my rafting days, and it turns out they also enjoy river sports as well!
Anyway, yeah I really like these two. Let’s get to the photos. Meet Jen and Ron:
I love Devil’s Thumb Ranch!!!
The dogs were camera shy, but I got a few with them smiling.
I LOVED photographing the guests at this wedding, so you are going to see a lot of guest photos. This is Jen’s mom.
Scenery, eh, not too shabby.
A little chilly but not too bad. Jen’s father models a gorgeous Patagonia down sweater.
Grandpa is 91. I was amazed. He was just up and walking around and talking everyone up. Not normal behavior for a 91 year old. Inspired!
photobomb.
This was not a traditional wedding ceremony. No officiant! They just married themselves! And gave the opportunity for several guests to get up and offer their advice. Very cool.
Time for the vows…
It’s about time for a party.
The light was good, so a few more of the newlyweds!
Mmmmm…
One of the big selling points for ME when we chose Devil’s Thumb Ranch for our wedding was the food. Unmatched catering at Devil’s Thumb Ranch. I promise you, you won’t find better wedding food anywhere else in Colorado!
I mustache you a question. Hey, it’s Movember!
That’s my dream house.
This wins the award for my own personal favorite dance photo of the night!
…and that’s all she wrote!
Congratulations Jen and Ron! Thank so much for picking me to be your wedding photographer!
