Had a great weekend out in Tabernash, Colorado at my very own wedding venue, Devil’s Thumb Ranch. The great thing about being a preferred vendor there, is that I get to revisit often, the very place where I tied the knot!
I also love elopements. This is the THIRD elopement I’ve photographed at DTR. Turns out, people who don’t want to mess with the potential drama of having a huge wedding, find this incredible Ranch and Spa a great destination for their special weekend. And when I’m called to shoot, it’s really special.
I love this couple. Rough-and-tumble beer-drinkin’, gun-slingin Ashley and Keaton made the drive from a small town in Texas. Ashley graduated high school in a class of like, 7 people. Just to give you an idea. My wife is also from a small town in the South, and I guess I love small town-folks. They appreciate the simple things in life like most people don’t.
Meet the couple:
Let’s rewind a bit… When you see this, you know you’re close to a cozy, warm, paradise!
Nice day for a Colorado elopement!
Unlike most weddings, the bride and groom got ready in the same cabin! But Ashley was on Keaton and made sure there was no looking!
Just keep looking out that window, Keaton. Don’t even think about looking upstairs.
Saphire wedding ring. Love it.
Ashley, checking out the wedding site. They decided to just git er done right outside the cabin.
Nothing like a Coors “Yellow Belly” to settle those pre-ceremony nerves.
Happy cowboy.
Making their way out to the spot that will seal the deal!
Aside from the pastor, I was the only other witness to this very cool moment.
Touching up a bit before heading out for some photos.
A little kiss in the wine cellar. And it’s time for supper!
A cold, but beautiful evening at Devil’s Thumb Ranch! And the rest is history. 🙂
Congrats, Ashley and Keaton! Wishing you all the very best. Thanks for having me out!
