It’s wedding season again, and this weekend I start it off right: with an Arizona Biltmore wedding for a cool couple and their little boy.
I have a confession to make… Wedding photography is easy. Anyone can do it: get a DSLR camera, put it on Auto and just snap away. Make sure you get the first kiss, and the cake cutting and family photos. Anyone can do it. And there are many who are, just like that. And many of them do a great job.
So why do people hire me? I think people hire me for the in-between moments. Sure, I’ll get a photo of the first kiss, the family photos, cutting the cake… and I’ll do a good job at that. But I think people hire me because I am obsessed with the moments that happen when most people aren’t looking. At least that’s what they tell me.
So as I approach this weekend’s wedding, I’m going to focus on that more than ever. I can’t wait to get out there and shoot at one of my favorite AZ venues again, all of the big moments and everything in-between.

You are brilliant at capturing not just the in between moments but all the tiny, beautiful details. You photography has personality…a sense if humor as well as respect and compassion. Those are things that can’t be taught. You inspire me with every photo.
